Floral Pavilion set to reopen with dazzling programme of performances

In March 2020, the Floral Pavilion Theatre and Conference Centre in New Brighton closed its doors as part of the fight against the pandemic. “We didn’t know then what a difficult and challenging year lay ahead and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support and patience during these difficult times.”, a spokesperson said.

Thanks to this support, the Floral Pavilion is now busy planning its reopening in line with the latest government guidance. The 2021 / 2022 programme launches in June and is packed full of unmissable shows.

The opening show is ‘Judy & Lisa’ on Friday 4 June 2021, with performances at 2:30pm & 7:30pm
Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli are portrayed by West End stars Emma Dears and Helen Sheals. This dazzling production tells the turbulent tale of Hollywoods biggest stars against the backdrop of their infamous 1964 London Palladium concert.

Following the opening day, there will be something for everyone including music shows featuring Ray Quinn, Neil Sands, Lucinda Williams, Gary Murphy, The Blues Band, Lee Mead and so many more.

The programme includes many comedy shows including Paul Smith, Jimmy Carr, Crissy Rock, Jonathan Pie and Hal Cruttenden. Plus, a whole host of children’s shows including Horrible Histories, Justin Live and In the Night Garden.

Christmas Pantomime tickets are now on sale. The 2021 panto is Beauty and The Beast starring Melanie Walters (Gwen from Gavin & Stacey) and Sean Jones (Blood Brothers). This is a real beauty of a pantomime so don’t wait – book now before “it’s behind you”!

The Floral Café will reopen no earlier than Monday 17 May and you will be able to enjoy the brand‑new summer menu along with the spectacular views.

In the Floral Pavilion’s digital brochure is a packed programme of events lined up from live music and comedy to family shows and musical theatre.

David MacKenzie, Commercial Manager at New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion said, “We cannot wait to welcome back audiences for an opening season that is shaping up to be bigger, bolder and louder than ever before! From live music and comedy to family theatre and drama, there’s something for everyone. We hope to see you soon – it’s been very empty without you all!”
