Visiting a Wirral library now offers even greater opportunities to discover your family history.
The libraries now have access to the 1921 Census, providing insights into people’s locations, companions, and what they were doing a century ago.
The service is only available online at Findmypast, but it is accessible when you visit in person at Wirral’s libraries.
The 1921 Census of England and Wales was a population census conducted in June of that year. It contains information on all households in England and Wales, as well as the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
A full entry on a standard household would contain details such as names of persons in each household, their relationship to the head of the household, ages, sex and place of birth and nationality for those born outside the UK.
Other information in the 1921 census includes occupation and place of work or whether they were in education, and more.
