The family of Paul Stenson also known as Paul ‘Mac’ have issued the following tribute:
Paul was a hard-working and loving father. He leaves behind his son, daughter, mother and wife who were together since school for more than 15 years and practically inseparable.
As a Tree Surgeon our Paul loved the outdoors and was well known in the community as Paul Mac. Wherever he went someone would recognise and chat with Paul.
His loss will leave our family devastated this Christmas and in the years to come.
Pauls’ family have asked for privacy while they grieve for their loss.
The 30-year-old, who is from the West Derby area, was taken to hospital following the incident in Princess Drive at around 6.30am on Sunday 19 December.
A post mortem revealed he died from a stab wound to the chest.
Two women aged 20, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and have since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Steven O’Neill said, “We are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about this incident to come forward and speak to us.
“Unfortunately we have seen the devastating impact that knife crime can have, not only for Paul’s family, who are now facing Christmas without a loved one, but also his friends and the local community.”
