Family hub receives garden makeover thanks to community project

Seacombe Family Hub has had a fantastic garden makeover, thanks to a community project involving group of Wirral-based students and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS).

As part of a personal development course funded by the Prince’s Trust, a group of 11 students aged between 16 and 23 have transformed the outdoor space for families to enjoy.

Delivered by MFRS, the 12-week course is an accredited qualification in employment, teamwork, and community skills.

Working hard in all weathers – as seen in the video below – the students have made the garden a great space for the families and children that attend the hub.

Seacombe Family Hub is one of several hubs across the borough bringing together a range of services for families and children. For more information, addresses and opening times visit: Wirral’s Family Hubs | wirral.gov.uk.
