This is a fun chance to dress as Santa Claus or put on some Christmas fancy dress and ride our bikes from the Visitor’s Centre at Birkenhead Park to the Children’s Hospital at Arrowe Park to raise money and awareness for Arrowe Park Hospital’s Tiny Stars Appeal. From there we will ride to Activity For All in Upton to celebrate the ride and join in on their family activities
This is organised by the Energise Cycles Crew and the Team at Activity for All and supported by our partners. The ride caters for most abilities. It is approx 8 miles and involves some road riding as well as cycle path. Children are welcome as long as they have a parent riding with them and are off stabilisers and capable of riding safely on the road.
The money raised from ticket sales will go to Arrowe Park Hospital’s Tiny Stars Appeal which will help them build a new neonatal unit.
You are also welcome to make a donation, or get friends and family to sponsor you, which will also go to the Tiny Stars Appeal.
The Tiny Stars Appeal
The Neonatal Unit at Arrowe Park Hospital is a designated Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit – one of only two in Cheshire and Merseyside. This means they are able to care for some of the most poorly babies. Our Neonatal Unit currently has 24 cots which enable the team to provide specialised care for babies from around 22 weeks of pregnancy.
Many of the babies are born early (premature). Some babies born around the time they are due (term) can also have problems, some requiring a brief stay with us and others a more intensive, longer stay. We know that improving the facilities will make a big difference for our smallest patients and their families.
The refurbishment includes and extensive reconfiguration of the ground floor of the Women and Children’s Hospital , Arrowe Park to expand the existing neonatal unit, purchasing world class medical equipment and creating enhanced parent facilities. WUTH Charity needs to raise £1.5million over the next three years to make this happen.

Activity For All is based at Arrowebrook Road, Upton, CH49 1AB and will be putting on family activities to celebrate the ride and raise money for the Tiny Stars Appeal. There will be inflatables, soft play, food and drink available for all participants.
