Search for the Sea Aster Mining Bee (Colletes halophilus) – Heswall

This is a joint recording day with the Cheshire Bee Group who will be looking for the Sea Aster Mining Bee (Colletes halophilus) on and around the coastal path in Heswall (near the Sheldrakes restaurant). There were potential sightings of the bee in 2021 at the site but a specimen is needed for confirmation. We will also record other bees and invertebrates whilst at the site.

More information about the Sea Aster Mining Bee (Colletes halophilus) can be found on Steven Falk’s Flickr here.

Please be aware that whilst we welcome invertebrate recorders of all experience levels, our recording days are not taught or guided sessions. (Check out our webinars/workshops here).

Events will be subject to cancellation if there is severe weather forecast

Booking essential: Further details regarding meeting place etc. will be circulated before the day.
