Liverpool Stately Homes with Ken Pye

16 April @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Delve into the history of the mansions and castles of the aristocrats who once owned much of Merseyside.

Delve into the history of the stately homes, manor houses and castles of the aristocrats who once owned much of Liverpool and Merseyside (and some who still do).

Ken will focus on the great houses that survive to the present day, and which are accessible to the public: Croxteth Hall (dating from 1575); Knowsley Hall (dating from the 14th Century); and Speke Hall (dating from 1476).

His stories take in the founding of the Grand national Steeplechase; the butchering of King Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth; Adam and Eve, the great Yew Trees of Speke Hall, and its ghosts.

These fabulous places are rich with incredible history, and Ken will tell you ‘all the best bits’!
