Lampshade Making Workshop

In this 2 hour workshop you will be taught how to make a contemporary drum-lampshade to a professional standard, using your own fabric.
The finished shade will be 30cm in diameter and will be suitable for use on a table lamp, or as a pendant / ceiling shade.
No experience necessary. All tools and equipment will be provided. You just need to turn up & bring along your fabric (you will be emailed prior to the event with details about suitable types of fabric, and the required size of fabric).
The workshop will take place in the Bulley Room at the beautiful Ness Botanical Gardens, and will be 2 hours long including a tea-break. Refreshments (tea/coffee , biscuits) are included in the ticket price.
You will go home with a wonderful lampshade for your home or to gift to a lucky friend, plus the skills to make many more!
Bluebird Upholstery has been transforming peoples well-loved but worn-out furniture, from a workshop in Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter since 2014. Owner Imogen Woodings is an AMUSF (Association of Master Upholsterers) trained upholsterer & QEST Scholar, is skilled in both traditional and modern upholstery, and was featured in the 2018 book A Celebration of British Craftsmanship. As well as furniture Imogen also makes and sells beautiful handmade lampshades & cushions.
