How important was religion to the men who fought in the First World War?

This is just one of the questions that historian and author Dr Martin Purdy will seek to answer in a talk for the Merseyside branch of the Western Front Association at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum, Slatey Rd, Birkenhead, CH43 4UE, on Thursday (July 7).

Dr Purdy has written numerous books and articles on the First World War, including titles for the BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are? franchise.
His talk, ‘God In The Front Line’, is at 7pm and open to all, There is an entry donation of £4 to help cover costs.
