Green Bibliofest: Victorian Portraits

1 August @ 9:10 am - 4:35 pm

Join Rachel from Little Vintage Photography for a unique and immersive journey back in time.

Step into the Victorian era by capturing the magic of heritage photography through a Victorian portrait experience. Rachel will teach and guide you through the entire process, so come and learn about the science behind creating traditional photographs on paper using silver and light, as well as becoming the subject of a unique portrait.

You will learn how to set up, focus and time the process, as well as take away your very own unique image as a digital file, along with a special app link so that you are able to share your portrait and the story of your experience with others.

Your one-off, original paper negative will also be carefully scanned, mounted and framed ready for you to collect following the event (charges apply).

Each session is for up to two children, but up to two adults are welcome to pose in the group photo as well.

A total of up to two adults and two children (if they can sit on an adult’s lap) will fit within the photo (please see examples)

This event is for children only, aged 8+ (plus their accompanying adult)

Please note:

All children and young people must be accompanied by a responsible adult and remain for the duration of the session.

Tickets are refundable (minus Eventbrite’s booking fee) until 72 hours before the event. Cancellations after this point are non-refundable, but we would still appreciate you cancelling so that other children can attend.

If parking, please use the car park on Balls Road East opposite the library if possible.

If you park on Raffles Road, please be considerate of our neighbours.

Event details are correct at the time of publishing but are subject to change.
