Exhibition Tours: “Twice Nightly: The Argyle Theatre Remembered”

“Twice Nightly: The Argyle Theatre Remembered”, running from 8th June until 3rd September, tells the story of The Argyle Theatre of Varieties, which opened in Birkenhead in 1868. Owned and managed by three generations of one family, it entertained thousands of people over 72 years. The theatre became known nationally and internationally as ‘The Cradle of the Stars’ launching the careers of artistes who were to become household names.
