Tranmere Rovers has announced the signing of Dynel Simeu on loan from Southampton until the end of the season.
Dynel began his career at Chelsea where he attracted interest from Southampton after impressing at youth level. Following a reported fee of £1.5 million, Dynel made the move to the Saints ahead of the 2021-22 season.
The defender then joined Carlisle United on loan to gain valuable first team experience in the Football League where he put in a string of impressive performances at Brunton Park.
He now joins up with Rovers for the remainder of the 2022/23 season after completing a season long loan deal.
Manager Micky Mellon said, “Dynel is a powerful and strong defender and we’re delighted that we’ve been able to bring him in for the rest of the season.
“As I mentioned earlier today in the press conference, we did want to add to that area of the squad with the injury list that we currently have so to add a player of Dynel’s quality, we’re really pleased.
“We’ll get him up to speed and integrated into the group as quickly as possible to add to our options.”
