Drugs and firearm seized at Vauxhall apartment block

Police have arrested a man and seized a large quantity of cannabis, cocaine and a firearm from an apartment in Vauxhall on Monday, 1 November.

Officers were conducting unrelated enquiries in an apartment block when they smelt cannabis emanating from one of the flats. Following a search of the premises, drugs, cash and a Bruni 96 blank firing pistol were recovered.

A 32-year-old-man from Vauxhall was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B Drugs, possession of a Section 1 firearm and possession of criminal property.

He has subsequently been released under investigation.

Inspector Andy Minnery of Matrix said, “This is an excellent proactive arrest by our officers. We continually work hard to ensure the streets of Merseyside are safe and to stop potential drug dealers from harming people in our communities.

“We urge anyone with information to reach out to us. If you are aware of anybody involved in crime, please let us know so we can put them before the courts.”
