Driver fails to stop after collision with motorcycle in Birkenhead

Police are in attendance in Birkenhead following a report of a collision this afternoon, Tuesday 31 May. 

At around 4pm, police received a report of a collision between a Ford Fiesta car and a motorbike. 

Emergency services attended and the two males on the motorbike, a rider and passenger, were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. 

The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene. 

An investigation has been launched and CCTV and witness enquiries into the incident are ongoing. 

Anyone who witnessed the incident or with any information is asked to contact police. 

Road closures are currently in place on Laird Street while emergency services deal with the incident and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes where possible.
