Driver failed to stop following collision with cyclist

Merseyside Police is appealing for information following a fail-to-stop road traffic collision in West Derby on Monday 29 May.

At around 12.20am, it was reported that a cyclist and a car being driven at the junction of Barnfield Drive and Town Row had been involved in a collision.

The cyclist, who is a man in his 20s, sustained serious head injuries. He required hospital treatment and is now recovering at home.

The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene and our enquiries are ongoing to locate this person.

Sergeant Ian Cowell from Roads Policing said, “We are taking this incident extremely seriously and our enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver of this vehicle.

“If you were in the area at the time and witnessed the collision, please let us know. In addition, we appeal to anyone with a dashcam, or who lives locally with CCTV or smart doorbell footage, to get in touch if you captured anything around the time of the incident.”
