Driver failed to stop after collision with pedestrian

Police are investigating following a serious injury road traffic collision that occurred in the early hours of Monday, 22 January, in Crosby.

At around 00:10am a blue Volvo S60 being driven on Liverpool Road was involved in a collision with a 19-year-old male pedestrian close to Merchant Taylors Girls School. The pedestrian suffered serious leg injuries.

The vehicle involved failed to stop at the scene of the collision and officers from Merseyside Police’s Roads Policing Department are requesting help in locating where the vehicle went after the collision.

It is believed it was parked up in the Crosby/Waterloo area from Monday, 22 January, through to Thursday, 25 January.

The vehicle had damage to the passenger side mirror and front passenger side grill. It may also have had its number plates removed after the collision.
