Co-operative colleagues across England are marking Remembrance Day with special displays in their windows.
Mayfields Woodland Burial Ground at Ferry Road, in Eastham, is one of the locations where there is a special display with an important message of remembrance.
Remembrance Day 2022 sees the Royal British Legion remembering and commemorating military and civilian service, and the 40th anniversary of the Falklands conflict.
Yvonne Parry, Team Leader at the burial ground, said, “It is something that we have done every year out of respect for our veterans. We are aware that we have ex-military buried on our grounds and we as staff have family members who have served for our country.
“We believe that this is a day that should be commemorated in a special way. We normally have our ex-grounds man come on the 11th hour of the 11th day and play the bugle and we do a small service in our remembrance garden and lay a poppy reef.
“This is a day that should never be forgotten.”
The crematorium is part of Southern Co-op which will be making a donation of £500 to the Royal British Legion to mark the important date.
