Detectives appeal for information following criminal damage in Orrell Park

Detectives are appealing for information following criminal damage at a home in Orrell Park on Monday, 25 October.

At around 10.30pm, residents of a home on Heartwood Close reported that a black BMW X5 had been driven into their own vehicle, pushing it into the front of the house, and causing extensive damage to the cars and property.

The BMW was abandoned on the driveway and two people were seen to leave on foot.

Although nobody was injured, the occupants were left extremely shaken.

Enquiries are ongoing, including forensic examinations of the vehicle, CCTV and house-to-house.

Detective Inspector Paul Gillies said, “This was a shocking experience for the residents to go through, which has caused extensive damage, inconvenience and worry. We believe that the car was deliberately rammed into the occupants’ vehicle and home, but that it was a case of mistaken identity.

“If you captured anyone running off around 10.30pm in the area of Heartwood Close, or have home CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage, please check as it may greatly assist our enquiries. We’re determined to find those people responsible for such a dangerous incident.”
