Sovini Construction has sponsored Merseyside’s first LGBTQ+ women’s football team, Inclusion Plus FC.
Inclusion Plus Football Club compete in the region’s first female-only league, LCFA Sefton and were established to support positive mental health and to promote inclusion across the local LGBTQ+ community; creating a safe space on and off the football pitch.
Sovini Construction is sponsoring the talented team, as they too promote equality, diversity and inclusion for their colleagues, customers and communities alike.
The award-winning construction firm has been working on its flagship Morris Meadows new build housing development in close proximity of the team’s training ground in Netherton.
The sponsorship deal follows the recent appointment of The Sovini Group’s new female Chief Business Officer, Anita Harrison-Carroll.
Not only has Anita achieved industry recognition as business leader of the year at the Women in Construction Awards, she has also championed fellow females in the construction industry and strives to create an inclusive workplace for all to thrive in.
Anita Harrison-Carroll, Chief Business Officer, said, “We are proud to be sponsoring a local organisation who shares our values in creating inclusive and thriving communities for all. The company is proud to be progressive within the construction industry, and we will continue to ensure we remain an equal, diverse and inclusive company, for our colleagues, customers and communities too. It’s great to learn of the excellent work that the team and league have been doing and we’ll be sure to be cheering Inclusion Plus FC on throughout their title race this season.”
