Merseyside Police has said that emergency services were in attendance at Egremont following a concern for the safety of a man this afternoon, Friday 15 October.
Both Police and RNLI were alerted to concerns for the safety of a man who was on a groyne off Egremont Parade.
Officers and the lifeguard attended at around 12.10pm after a man was seen close to the water on the groyne at the bottom of Tobin Street near to The Ferry public house.
A police spokesperson said, “A man was found and taken to safety. He will be assessed under the Mental Health Act.”
