Live music, drinks, free clothes! All while supporting trauma victims and helping combat the pitfalls of the fast fashion industry – and saving some pennies at a time we could all do with some extra cash.
Following her busy pilot event in November, local musician and pre-loved fashion fan Erasing Grace – real name Anna Grace Du Noyer – hosts the second eco-friendly fashion frenzy event, Style Swap Social – the event where you can bring your old clothes and swap them for items you love.
The event will be held at Future Yard, Birkenhead on 20 December from 6pm alongside live music and a fully stocked bar.
Style Swap Social promises the fast-fashion fix we crave, sustainably all while helping some great causes at this pre-Christmas, free event.
Bring along your unwanted clothing and swap for items you love, while socialising and listening to some tunes, at Wirral’s best and coolest live music venue.
Items of clothing that aren’t swapped will be donated to local charities, including The Whitechapel Centre, that support victims of trauma, sexual violence and marginalisation – causes that host, Anna, is passionate about, since documenting her own trauma healing journey on her mental health blog and through her music platforms.
Anna invites event-goers to bring along a selection box to add to the Christmas Appeal for The Whitechapel Centre, who will distribute among their service users – many of whom are homeless, suffering from trauma and social isolation.
In January, Anna will launch the Style Swap Challenge 2023. A sponsored event that asked participants to host their own Style Swap, among friends and family, to fundraise for sexual violence support charity RASA Merseyside.
Anna said, “[I’m] very happy to have confirmed a new charity partnership with RASA Merseyside, who support victims of Rape and Sexual Abuse. RASA are currently supporting me, personally, through multiple police investigations relating to the abuse and sexual violence I have referenced in my trauma recovery blog.”
