Without having to kick a ball in the month of May, Queens Park Vets have been crowned champions of the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division Two.
The damage had been done in the earlier part of the season as Queens won every away game to remain unbeaten winning twelve and drawing one in a brilliant league campaign. Congratulations to Chairman Peter Smith on all his hard work behind the scenes.
Midweek action in the CWFL Doug Johnson Vets Cup semi-final saw Division 1 highflyers Higher Bebington Kelma Vets travel to Mount Pleasant, the home of Division 2 side Lache Vets, and it did not disappoint.
Goals from Chris Hulse and Warren Kelly gave Lache a 2-0 lead midway into the first half only to see John Paul Wheadon fire in a hat-trick to put Kelma into an early second-half lead. Lache rallied again though and two strikes from Warren Kelly completed his own hattrick and the comeback as they ran out 4-3 winners.
Lache will now face Hooton Vets in the final on Monday 29 May at Cairns Crescent home of Blacon Youth FC.
In the CWFL Life Members Cup semi-finals, Black Horse put an end to FC Farndon‘s dreams of a double with an impressive 5-0-win courtesy of a hat-trick from Will O’Leary, a Matt Kehoe strike plus an own goal.
The Final will be a repeat of the League Cup Final as Blacon Youth Reserves accounted for Cestrian Alex on Friday night, winning 6-2 with Cestrian’s goals coming from Ashley Reed and Josh Camy.
The Life Members Cup final will be played at Cairns Crescent, the home of Blacon Youth, on Monday 29 May with a 3pm kick off.
This Friday night (26 May) will see the Tom Gerraghty Vets Final take place between Neston Nomads Vets and Frodsham Vets and will be played at Neston High School Astro pitch with a 6-30pm Kick off. Good Luck to both teams.
In the CWFL Tarvin Vets Division 3, Dee Rangers Vets had Dalton and Lucas on target plus an own goal but had to share the points, as Crossway Vets netted three of their own with efforts from Phil Radcliffe, Phil Goss, and Paul Molyneaux.
In another 3-3 draw Hoole Rangers Vets had Steve Jones on target with a double and Mario Hickson also netted but again it was not enough, as FC Vaults Vets also netted three of their own.
Chester Nomads 5th had Hayden Evans on target with a brace and Simon Andrews with a single as they defeated Nags Head Vets 3-1.
