Midweek action in the CWFL League Cup semi-finals saw Cestrian Alex take the lead but a goal from Will O’Leary and a late winner from Matty Millington sent Black Horse through to the final.
There they will meet Blacon Youth Club who dispatched of Hoole Rangers 4-1 with goals coming from Aaron Rowlands with 2, and singles from Aaron Hinchcliffe and Robbie Jonson. Jack Stelling scored Hoole’s consolation.
Friday night action in the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 1 and Mersey Royal Vets got back on track with a 10-2 win against Ashton Vets. Danny Edwards smashed in a hat-trick whilst Robbo Courtenay hit a double and Andy Robinson, Chris Mcginn, Pip Baker, and David Carrington also got in on the act, with Stu Whittaker grabbing both Ashton goals.
In the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division, the big game of the day came at The Memorial ground as Shaftesbury welcomed title rivals Blacon Youth Club. It was Blacon who left with the three points as goals from Josh Jones and Danny Davies kept the league title race alive and now means Shaftesbury must now beat Waggon and Horses by two goals in their final fixture to become champions.
Hoole Rangers played out a 10-goal cracker against Christleton as the game ended 5-5. On target for Hoole was Charlie Bell with a brace, singles for both Ben Hughes and Jack Stelling plus an own goal. Christletons goals came via a Dave Burgess double and singles from Jack Harding, Rob Mcnally, and Alex West.
Alex Lewis bagged a hat-trick for Neston Nomads Reserves to seal a 3-1 win against Helsby 3rds in a great team performance in a result which lifts Nomads off the foot of the table.
In the CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship, Port Sunlight had a hat-trick hero in Harley Price whilst Ed Mawdsley also netted as Sunlight ran out 4-1 winners against Orange Athletic.
CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 1 action on Saturday saw another high-scoring victory for Higher Bebington Kelma Vets who smashed nine past Great Float Vets. Ben McWah bagged four, Mark Jones got a brace whilst Fed Mcwah and Jonny Sumner got singles in a 9-2 win.
Hooton Vets had Chay Dysart on target with a double and Dave Rudge also netted in a 3-1 win against Capenhurst Vets.
Lache Vets went back to the top of Division 2 with a fine 5-2 win against FC Farndon Vets. Warren Kelly kept up his fine scoring form with a brace, whilst Jack Gibbons also bagged two and Mikey Edwards netted a single.
