Chester and Wirral Football League round up, 12 August 2023

The CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division kicked off on Saturday and Champions Blacon Youth got their campaign off to a winning start against newcomers Kelsall FC.

Midway into the first half, Blacon Skipper Robbie Joinson launched a throw into the box which caused havoc and allowed Jack Rowlands to poke home from close range. Just before half time, Frederick Webb drew Kelsall level when his 20-yard shot squirmed under the Blacon keeper and it was game on.

Fifteen minutes into the second half and another Robbie Joinson throw in, assisted this time by the wind, found its way into the net via a deflection to win it for Blacon. Special mention to Liam Power who stepped in to referee the game at late notice.
