Car fire causes delays near Woodchurch junction of M53

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) attended an incident at Landican Lane, Landican, on Friday, 24 May.

Firefighters were alerted at 4.05pm and one fire engine was on scene at 4.13pm.

A witness told Birknehad News that he could see fire fighters at the scene and that a police car arrived shortly afterwards, while cars were unable to move due to the incident.

On arrival, the MFRS crew found one vehicle on fire. A firefighter wearing breathing apparatus fought the fire under general observations using one hose reel jet.

At 4.49pm the incident was handed over to Merseyside Police and the crew left the scene.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
