Merseyside Police officers are appealing for witnesses following reports a car was deliberately driven at a man in a targeted attack in West Derby on Saturday 20 November 2021.
At around 10.30pm, police received a report of a collision involving a black car being driven at a male pedestrian on Honeys Green Lane. The vehicle was described as an Audi or BMW model.
The incident is believed to be linked to an altercation in the Bulldog pub a short time earlier.
The pedestrian had left the pub and was walking on Honeys Green Lane when the collision occurred.
The offender reportedly approached the victim in the car and made threats before driving at him at speed, mounting the pavement and driving into the victim.
He received serious injuries and was taken to hospital. The investigation continues and police are appealing for information from people who were in the vicinity that night.
Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said, “This was a very frightening experience for the victim who needed medical treatment for his injuries, and is still recovering from it.
“Our investigation is still ongoing, and we are appealing for any witnesses or if anyone in the area might have captured the incident on CCTV or dash camera footage, or information which may assist in bringing the offender to justice.
“We will take action on all information provided to put those responsible before the courts.”
Anyone who has information or can assist with the enquiry is asked to DM @MerPolCC or quoting 21000808563 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
