Car crash causes Woodchurch Road closure

A crashed car has caused Merseyside Police to close Woodchurch Road to traffic and pedestrians between Oakdene Road and Singleton Avenue.

Merseyside Police has asked drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area. The road is expected to be closed until around 2pm today.

The car driven, by an elderly gentleman, was being recovered at the time birkenhead.news was at the scene. The man has been taken to hospital, but his condition was not known.

Woodchurch Road reopened shortly before 2pm.
