Calday Grange Grammar School donates hundreds of toys to TRFC’s Super White Christmas Appeal

Calday Grange Grammar School donated over 800 toys to the Super White Christmas Appeal

In line with the Club’s Super White Christmas appeal which is into its fifth year and enables both children and adults to enjoy some of the festive experiences which most of us take for granted, Calday Grammar School has donated an incredible amount of toys to the appeal.

The Tranmere Rovers in the Community team went along to Calday Grange with Rover this afternoon (Thursday 16 December) and collected an impressive 801 presents that the school generously donated to the Super White Christmas Appeal and surpassed by over double the amount of donations from the previous years.

Speaking to Calday about the donations they said, “Being educators we see the impact this kind of appeal has on the community and the thought of anyone of our students waking up on Christmas Day with nothing, it’s heartbreaking that there are children on Wirral in this position. So that is why it’s important we do what we can for our local community.

“It’s important for the pupils to get involved as it makes them think about others in their community who might not be as fortunate or as privileged as they are. A lot of people assume that because we are a grammar school all of our students are privileged but there are some that aren’t so it makes them think and reflect a little bit more.

“We have our own Tranmere Rovers supporters club in school so it’s good to continue to develop those links within the community ourselves.”

Speaking on doubling the number of donations they have received this year they said, “I can only say thank you to all the students, staff, and parents  who have all donated toys and presents to give to Tranmere so they can share them with those who really need them”

Everyone at Tranmere Rovers and Tranmere Rovers in the Community would like to thank all those at Calday Grange Grammar School for their incredible efforts, their generosity will really make an impact on someone this Christmas.

This is the fifth year that the Super White Christmas Toys Appeal has taken place at Tranmere Rovers and it has helped the local and wider Wirral community.

As part of the wider Super White Christmas Appeal and as we have done each year, the Club shall be hosting care leavers on Christmas Day for some festive food and activities. On Boxing Day we will be hosting an event for adults in need.

In addition to this, the Club will be delivering over 250 hampers to families in need and those isolated this Christmas.
