Burned body of dog found on Bidston Hill

The burned body of a dog has been found at Bidston Hill.

Gray Taylor, Manager at Wirral Fox Rescue said, “On Sunday we had to respond to a report of a fox on Bidston Hill that had died in suspicious circumstances. After retrieving and on close inspection it is not a fox, it is a dog.

“She is a Staff cross and she has been brutally beaten. Her legs are broken and she has severe and very deep lacerations mainly on her back and shoulders. She has been beaten and set on fire and from the track marks she has dragged herself or been dragged about four meters afterwards

“We can all agree that this is absolutely a brutal and horrific thing to do to a living creature and for the sake of this poor girl everyone needs to know what has happened and the people responsible need to be brought to justice.”

An RSPCA spokesperson said, “This is a shocking and senseless act of cruelty which is so upsetting to hear about and we would urge anyone with first-hand information about what happened to this poor dog to contact us on 0300 1234 999 or Merseyside Police.”

If you have any information about this incident, please contact Merseyside Police at @MerPolCC or on 112 with reference 23000210393.
