Bromborough fashion giant Oh Polly support World Suicide Prevention Day with charity link up

Online fashion retailer Oh Polly have pledged their support for World Suicide Prevention Day by donating 10% of their profits for the day to Wirral based suicide intervention charity, The Martin Gallier Project.

World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) is an awareness day observed on 10 September every year, in order to provide worldwide commitment and action to prevent suicides, with various activities around the world.

The ethical fashion brand, which was born out of a charitable initiative to support children in some of the poorest regions of the world, has launched a campaign to help raise awareness of the issues surrounding suicide and raise some much-needed funds for the vital services provided by the charity.

The Martin Gallier Project was set up in 2017 by Jessica Gallier, after losing her father Martin to suicide in the same year. To date, the charity has made a huge impact in terms of breaking down the stigmas surrounding suicide whilst supporting thousands of families across the northwest and being instrumental in preventing over 7,000 deaths.

Speaking about the collaboration with Oh Polly, Jessica said, “The team at Oh Polly have been an amazing support to us here at the charity over the last year. Their commitment to Corporate Social responsibility is really quite inspirational and we love working with them to help get the word out and raise the profile of what we are doing here at The Martin Gallier Project.

Their input goes way beyond the generous financial support they have pledged. We love their creative ideas and if this campaign can help save one life then that is priceless to us.

Each year has a different theme and focus, to bring to light a specific aspect of suicide prevention. This year’s theme is “Creating Hope Through Action.”

Commenting on the initiative, Oh Polly’s Finance Director Steve Brown said, “We are delighted to be able to help raise awareness for World Suicide Prevention Day and shout about the incredible work the guys at the Martin Gallier Project do on a daily basis. As a business, we run a series of our 10% profit days with a variety of charities but with mental health such a burning issue right now, this is an area that really resonates with us.’ “
