Bromborough fashion brand raises £5.5k for charity with roller-disco Pride event

Bromborough based womenswear brand Oh Polly recently hosted their very own Pride event in association with Mermaids  charity.

Over 100 people attended the Roller Skating Disco event in London on 14 June 2022, to help raise money and awareness for the LGBTQ+ community.

On the night the guests donated £470 through the purchasing of exclusive Mermaids cocktails and Oh Polly branded T-shirts. As well as this, Oh Polly donated an additional £5,000 to the charity taking the total donation sum to £5,470.

A spokesperson from Mermaids commented, ‘’Mermaids is incredibly grateful for Oh Polly’s donation which will go towards getting more of our local community groups backup and running in-person again.

“These groups are an essential part of the work we do here at Mermaids, and since moving online due to Covid-19 restrictions, we’ve been counting down the days until we could reconnect with our community again.

“Mermaids’ vision is a world where trans, gender-diverse and non-binary children and young people can be themselves and thrive, and we’re excited to have partnered with Oh Polly as we know they share our commitment to inclusivity, community and creating safe spaces for young people to have fun.’’

Between the guests arriving at 6pm and leaving at 10pm, attendees could enjoy drinks sponsored by Whitley Neil, photo opportunities and a chance to roller skate across the Roller Nation disco floor.

Doll Beauty ensured guests stayed glam with regular beauty touch-ups and make-up refreshments while Street Dough made sure energy levels peaked with love heart shaped pizzas.
