Merseyside Police has arrested a 14-year-old boy and seized a suspected stolen electric bike following a pursuit.
At around 9.20pm last night, Thursday 27 October, an officer spotted an electric bike being ridden dangerously on Bridge Road in Litherland.
The rider and passenger, who were both not wearing helmets or protective clothing, then sped off.
During the pursuit, the electric bike was ridden on the pavement and narrowly avoided colliding with a pedestrian.
With the support of the police helicopter, officers were able to make an arrest in Crescent Garden, in Waterloo.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving a motor vehicle other than in accordance with a licence, driving without third-party insurance and intentionally/recklessly causing a public nuisance.
He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
