Merseyside Police has confirmed that officers searching for missing Wirral man Robert Bigland have sadly found a body today, Wednesday 9 June.
The discovery was made in woodland close to Pasture Road in Moreton at 12.55pm.
The body has been formally identified as 40 year-old Robert Bigland, who went missing from his home in Moreton yesterday (Tuesday).
Robert was last seen at his home address on Orchard Road at around 2pm yesterday and police were becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.
Police say that when last seen, Mr Bigland When last seen, he was wearing a grey loungewear.
Mr Bigland’s death is not being treated as suspicious and his next of kin have been informed.
A file is in the process of being prepared for the coroner.

Another person said, “So very sad, his poor family, RIP Robert thinking of all your family and friends at this sad time. xx”
Tranmere Rovers owner, Nicola Palios said in a statement, “This is tragic news. Robbie was instrumental in setting up our coach education and football school work in China. Deepest condolences to his family from everyone at Tranmere Rovers.”
