Birkenhead pub reopens following £174k refurbishment

The Claughton Hotel has reopened following a £174,000 investment into the popular Birkenhead pub.

With a new look both internally and externally, The Claughton Hotel, based on Upton Road and is looking rejuvenated following a range of changes including new furnishings and fittings being installed, refreshed flooring, additional seating, and a new colour scheme adopted to the pub that dates back to 1850.

Speaking on the refurbishment Operator at The Claughton Hotel, Stephanie Watson said, “We’re so happy with the refurbishment and guests are loving our new look and entertainment line-up. We are a local pub based in the heart of the community, so to be open once again and see our regulars enjoying themselves is such a good feeling.”

Guests at the pub can enjoy the choice of eleven large TVs to watch with BT Sport and Sky Sports shown daily. Elsewhere in the pub, a new pool table, illuminated darts board and gaming machines have been added to give some healthy competition between guests, to enjoy well into the evening.

Stephanie added, “Between our range of TVs available to catch all the best live sport and our darts board, pool table and gaming machines, we’ve got so many ways to keep our guests entertained. Whilst, of course, enjoying our great range of drinks from behind the bar.”

The Claughton Hotel is part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, which was named the Best Community Operator at the 2022 Publican Awards.
