The Claughton Hotel, Upton has recently welcomed their local MP, Mick Whitley to see its new look following its £174,000 investment a few months ago and to meet with the pub team.
Mr Whitley was greeted by Operators Stephanie Watson and Wayne Carney, who gave him a full tour of the rejuvenated pub explaining what changes had been made during the investment.
The pub was given a new colour scheme as well as new furniture and fittings, which has given it a new lease of life. Stephanie and Wayne also showed the MP for Birkenhead the large bar, where he got the opportunity to pull a pint behind it.
Mick Whitley MP said, “I am pleased to have had the opportunity to meet with Stephanie and Wayne and visit The Claughton Hotel. It is an amazing local business in Birkenhead, and it was great to see and hear about how its recent investment has added to the pub’s offering and helped to enhance the guest experience.
“Stephanie, Wayne, and the pub team do lots to involve every member of the community, and it is great to see the relationship the business has with its customers. I look forward to the next time I visit The Claughton Hotel and meet Stephanie and Wayne again.”
Stephanie commented, “It was really nice to have Mr Whitley come and visit us at the pub and see what it looks like after its refurbishment. Wayne and I enjoyed being able to tell him about all of our community involvement and what we offer to bring everyone together. Mr Whitley was really interested to hear how the business was doing, and we cannot wait to welcome him again.”
Since reopening its doors, the friendly local has been supplying non-stop entertainment for everyone in the area to come along and get involved with. Live sports are screened regularly across the pub’s eleven screens, creating a space for all sports fans to gather and cheer on their teams. Some of the other entertainment held at The Claughton Hotel includes DJ Nights, Karaoke, and live music from local musicians.
Stephanie concluded, “We have lots of regular entertainment going on at the pub, which is always great fun, and all of our guests seem to thoroughly enjoy themselves. We cannot wait to welcome more individuals into our wonderful pub and look forward to sharing the World Cup and festive season with everyone. We have lots planned that you do not want to miss out on.”
