A Birkenhead man was charged with firearms and drug offences yesterday, Thursday 10 February.
At around 7.40pm on Wednesday 9 February, police executed a warrant at an address on Carlton Road.
A firearm and a quantity of Class A drugs was recovered.
A 49-year-old man was arrested at the property and taken into custody for questioning.
The firearm was made safe by officers and forensically recovered.
Matthew West, aged 49, of Carlton Road, Birkenhead has now been charged with possession of a shotgun without a certificate and possession of Class A drugs (heroin and crack cocaine).
West has been remanded into custody and will appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court this morning (Friday 11 February).
