Merseyside Police has charged a man with a number of offences following an incident in Cleveland Street, Birkenhead, yesterday, Thursday 8th April.
Anthony Cullen, 58, of Argyle Street, Birkenhead, has been charged with possession of a sharply pointed article in a public place, s4a public order and use of threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour.
He has been remanded into custody to appear at Wirral magistrates court.
The man was arrested on suspicion of various offences following an incident in Birkenhead on Thursday 8 April.
At around 5.15pm, calls were received of a man on Cleveland Street, reportedly in possession of a knife and making threats towards members of the public.
Armed police were deployed and detained a man nearby. A 58-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray; threats to kill; and possession of a bladed article. He was taken to a police station for questioning by detectives.
