Birkenhead gym prepares for reopening after major transformation

A popular Birkenhead gym will reopen under a new name next month, with Anytime Fitness Birkenhead set to throw open its doors to the local community.

The location, on Grange Road in the heart of Birkenhead, previously known as Fitness4Less, has been purchased by local couple Renata and Steven who are making a six-figure investment in the gym.

The gym is currently closed while it undergoes a significant internal and external refurbishment, before reopening in September as an Anytime Fitness with 24/7 opening hours and a range of new state-of-the-art equipment.

Owners, Steven and Renata

As a franchised business, Renata and Steven are putting community at the heart of the gym’s operation and as part of the takeover, are looking to retain some of the existing staff team that members have come to know and enjoy.

“We’re so excited to be opening Anytime Fitness Birkenhead and supporting local people with their health and wellbeing,” said Renata. “The current team have built a great community in such a short period of time and we’re looking forward to building on that and providing a welcoming and inclusive gym that the area can be proud of.”

“Both Steven and I have experienced first-hand the positive impact that exercises can have on our physical and mental wellbeing, which is why we’re so passionate about owning our own gym. We want the gym to be a hub of the local area and you can expect to see us out and about in Birkenhead over the next few weeks, as well as hosting some fun events for everyone.”

Members of the new gym will benefit from state-of-the-art equipment, group exercise classes, small group personal training and personalised support from the gym’s in-house coaches. Renata and Steven are also investing in some extra touches for members to enjoy, including Theragun massage guns and a body scan machine.

Anytime Fitness was founded in the USA in 2002, opening its first UK gym in Bristol in 2010. It now has over 180 gyms across the UK and Ireland, as well as over 5,000 locations worldwide.

As part of their membership at Anytime Fitness Birkenhead, members have the unique benefit of being able to access all these locations worldwide with their purple access fob.
