Bebington man charged with death of eight-year-old boy

Two men have been charged with the death of an eight year old boy in Tameside.

Kevin Jones, of Bebington has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death whilst unlicensed and causing death whilst uninsured.

Thomas McGrath, Stockport, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Both men are due to attending Tameside Magistrates court on Thursday 15 April.

Police were called at around 8:15pm on Thursday 23 July 2020 to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Ryecroft Street in Ashton-Under-Lyne.

An eight year old boy suffered fatal injuries and has been identified as Safiullah Latif Asif from Ashton-Under-Lyne.
