Balaclava thugs in Wallasey aggravated burglary

Merseyside Police is appealing for information following an aggravated burglary in Wallasey last month.

At around 4.20am on Sunday 4 July, three males wearing balaclavas forced entry to a house on Gorsey Lane and attempted to gain entry to a bedroom with two occupants inside. The victims handed over a Breitling Avenger watch to the offenders who left. They were uninjured but understandably distressed.

All CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries have so far proved negative and detectives are now issuing images of the watch and the circumstances to assist the investigation.

Detective Inspector Lynsay Armbruster said, “This was a frightening experience for both victims to go through and we’re keeping an open mind as to whether they were targeted by the offenders for this watch or any other reason.

“If you live in the area and saw or heard anything but are yet to come forward following our enquiries locally, please do so and we will remove those responsible from the streets.

“Likewise, if you recognise the watch or have seen it offered for sale, or captured any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage on the night, come forward and we will do the rest.”
