A man has been arrested following the shooting of a man in Woodchurch on Tuesday 22 March.
At around 6.30pm, officers were called to a report of a shooting on Hoole Road, at its junction with Ferny Brow Road.
A 23-year-old man presented at hospital afterwards with several gunshot wounds. He remains in hospital with life changing injuries.
Following extensive enquiries, a 28-year-old man from Beechwood was arrested yesterday (Tuesday 29 March) on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
He has been taken into custody to be interviewed, while further enquiries into the incident continue.
Officers – who are treating the incident as a targeted shooting – believe that the male offender was driving a dark coloured Ford Fiesta that made off at speed towards Houghton Road, and was later found burnt out on Wildbrook Drive.
