Armed police were deployed in a search for three men who were seen acting suspiciously in a Birkenhead street.
The police helicopter was also deployed following residents’ reports of three men getting out of a car and entering a house in Oakdene Road.
Woodchurch Road was closed off while armed officers searched the area and the police helicopter circled overhead.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said, “We were contacted at 9.05pm last night, Sunday 25 July, following reports three males had been seen getting out of a car and acting suspiciously in the area of Oakdene Road.
“Officers were deployed to the area and enquiries were carried out. An area search was commenced but nobody was traced and the incident was stood down.”
