Merseyside Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Bootle on Saturday 17 December.
At around 12.50pm, police received a report that a Ford C-Max car had collided with bollards on Orrell Lane.
A 74-year-old man, who was driving the vehicle, had suffered a suspected medical episode and sadly died a short time later.
Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson from the Matrix Serious Collision Investigation Unit said, “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this sad time and they are being supported by specially trained Family Liaison Officers.
“I appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or saw the vehicle immediately before it happened to please get in touch. I would also like to ask anyone who has dashcam footage or CCTV footage of the incident to make contact.
“Witnesses we have spoken to so far make mention of another vehicle stopping to assist after the collision, but those people would appear to have left prior to police arrival. If that was you, please call us. Any information we can gather may assist us in our investigation”.
