At around 10.45am on Monday 6 September, suspects entered the post office on Smithdown Road and engaged staff in conversation regarding swapping coins for notes.
A commotion broke out and staff were distracted, leading to cash being stolen from a till. The suspects ran onto Ferndale Road and escaped in a vehicle.
Enquiries have been ongoing.
Detective Inspector Ben Dyer said, “These men may hold vital information, so if you know who they are, come forward.
“This was a distressing experience for staff, and we’re determined to find those responsible and ensure they and other businesses are not targeted in future. If you were in the area and saw the incident or anyone running off, let us know too, as your dashcam, CCTV or other information could be the key.”
