Appeal following burglary at Liscard Asda

Detectives are appealing for more information following a burglary at a store in Liscard in the early hours of Tuesday morning (25 October).

At around 5.30am officers received a report that a group of offenders broke into an ATM room at the Asda Store on Seaview Road.

No items were taken during the incident and officers are continuing to carry out witness enquiries and analyse CCTV footage in the area.

Detective Inspector Daren Hankin said, “Although no items were taken this is still a serious crime that has caused considerable damage to the store’s premises.

“Business thefts are not a victimless crime and have a huge impact on the store, shoppers and staff who are just doing their job.

“We are determined to find the offenders to prevent these crimes from taking place and ensure other stores are not targeted in our community.

“If you were driving on Seaview Road in the early hours of Tuesday morning and saw anything suspicious or have any CCTV or dashcam footage please check your systems and contact police if you have any information that could help our investigation.”

Anyone with information should contact @MerPolCC or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 with reference 22000783843.
