Detectives have issued images of a man who may have information to assist enquiries after a man was assaulted in Liverpool city centre in September.
At around 2am on Wednesday 7 September, officers were called to a report that a man in his 40s was assaulted on Mathew Street.
The victim was punched once by an unknown man in an unprovoked assault. The suspect then ran off with another male in the direction of Legends Sports Bar.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of a fractured jaw.
Since the attack, officers have carried out an extensive investigation in the area and analysed CCTV footage to identify anyone who could be responsible. Detectives have now issued images of a man they believe could assist with their enquiries.
Detective Inspector Katie Coote said, “This was an unprovoked and violent assault that left a man with a fractured jaw.
“We think the man pictured may have vital information to help our enquiries so if you know him, please come forward.
“If you recognise this man, or these images remind you of anything suspicious you saw at around 1.30am on Wednesday 7 September on Mathew Street, please do let us know.
“While some months have passed since the incident, we are still determined to find the person responsible for this assault.”
