Antique guns handed over to police

Police were called to a property in Selbourne Close, Woodchurch at 10.55am today, Thursday 24 June, following reports a firearm had been seen by a visitor to the property.

There had been reports of a large police presence at the location, with road closures in place. Initially rumours spread that there had been a shooting near to Fender Primary School, but this is not the case.

Officers attended the scene and spoke to the occupier.

Four antique weapons, which were decommissioned and legally held by the owner, have been handed over.

A police spokesperson said, “No offences were committed and the matter has now been resolved.”
