Adkins speaks ahead of final game of season

Tranmere Rovers manager Nigel Adkins has emphasised that his side will be going out to win in their season finale at Accrington Stanley on Saturday.

“We’ve ended the season in respect of the last home game with a win, the game before that was away from home, we won for the first time down at Newport, so the last two games have been good,” he said.

“From my point of view, we’ve got a lot of players, some players are out of contract, some players will leave. Some players are in contract, we’ve already talked about the team that we’ve got.

“We want to put a team out on Saturday against Accrington Stanley to compete, to try and win the game of football, and obviously the travelling supporters to see the players trying to do the best they can to win for Tranmere Rovers Football Club and have that engagement, put a closure on this season, and then get ourselves ready as we move forward for next year.”
