Adkins expects ‘tough game’ against Walsall

Tranmere Rovers manager Nigel Adkins says he expects a ‘tough game’ from Walsall in their League Two clash at Prenton Park on Saturday, 6th April (3pm kick-off).

“They’re just off the play-offs, they’ve got every chance of getting in there. I think they’ve got a couple of games in hand.

“Good side, Mat Sadler’s doing really well for them. From my point of view, we know it’s going to be a challenge.

“We narrowly missed out at their place, Jean Belehouan and Joe Yarney were the two centre-halves on that day. Both of them played very well during the course of that game. We were on a good run of form. That was the only defeat we had in probably about ten, twelve games.

“We know it’s going to be a challenging game. This stage of the season with four games to go, we’ve got one or two little injuries, niggles, we’re going to have to deal with, which is fine. We’ve got a group of players who are all committed and want to do well.

“We’re back at Prenton Park, the pitch is magnificent. As I said at the last couple of home games, some of the passing football we’ve been playing, progressive passing football, has been really enjoyable to watch.”
