Merseyside Police is appealing for information after an assault in Walton left a man in a serious condition in hospital.
It was reported a fight had broken out involving two men on County Road’s junction with Chepstow Street, near to the Chepstow Castle Pub at around 2.40pm on Wednesday 10 August.
During the fight, a 55-year-old man was punched by another man, causing him to fall to the ground where he hit his head.
The victim sustained a head injury and is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
The offender, who made off on foot down Lind Street, is described as white, around 30 years old, with a skin head wearing a grey top.
Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said, “This was a vicious assault which has left a man requiring significant medical help.
“He remains in a serious condition, and his family are understandably extremely worried.
“We are appealing for anyone who has any information about who did this to contact us. We owe it to the victim and his family to find the person responsible and bring them to justice.
“If you saw anything, have heard anything since or were passing at the time of the incident and may have dashcam that captures any part of it, please do the right thing and contact us.”
